The children will learn to recognize the letters in their name as well as write their last names correctly by writing the first letter uppercase and the following letters in lowercase.

We are also working on identifying the following sight words:
no, could, boy, big, first, put, ran, than, climb, does, pull, two, see, more, go, ask, every, eyes, fast, way

We are in the process of counting up to 100. We will start by counting to 50 and work our way up to 100. We are also learning to count to 100 by 5s. The children will also learn to write the number words for 0 through 10.

For science we are going to discuss things in the sky, as well as positions of objects, such as beside, above, behind, and etc. We will also begin to compare alike and different objects.

For social studies, the children will learn that Topeka is a city and Kansas is a state. We will discuss a variety of community helpers, as well as learn about the differences between individuals.
