March Madness

STUDENT OF THE MONTH – George is funny, thoughtful and caring.  When he is playing outside he likes to run, play tag and swing on the swings.  Inside the classroom he likes to build with blocks, make spinners, dance and rock out. 

 March 26th – Boomer Bear

THEMES – Solar System, Community Helpers

SHOW-N-TELL – (Must be small enough to fit in their desk or book bag)  No weapons.  I have a dry erase board on my doors with weekly themes.  Children may pick a show-n-tell from the list.

LANGUAGE ART – We will be identifying our upper and lower case letters V v, W w, X x, as well as learning how to write the letters independently while learning what the letter sounds are and learning words that start with those letters.  Locating and identifying periods, exclamation marks.  We will practice our rhyming words.  We will learn what the parts of a book are called.  

MATH – We will learn how to count to 100 by 1’s.  Number recognition 1 – 100.  Rectangle – identify and draw.  Counting objects using one to one correspondence.  Ordering numbers with and with out a number line.  Money/Coins – Identify and know value of nickel, dime, and quarter.  Writing numbers 1 – 100.  

SCIENCE – Planets.  We will learn about the sun, moon, and stars.  God’s creation.  We will learn how to say sun, moon, and stars in spanish.  

SOCIAL STUDIES – We will learn about our community and many of our community helpers.  We will also be learning our home address and phone numbers.  We will recognize our individual differences.
