Student of the Month – Ian

Language Arts: We will finish up our alphabet this month and begin focusing on sounds and blending them into simple words. I am going to try one and two letter sight words and building on that to do more. I’ll send a note home and post it in our kennedy academy e3 class Facebook page as well. It will have more details. We are also going to focusing writing letters and working on spelling and writing our last names.

Math: We will continue to work on number recognition, especially the teens. Along with that we will be doing more hands on activities involving counting and counting on, such as fill in the next number. We have done a few “games” and they have caught on quickly.

Science: This is going to be a fun month with St. Patrick’s Day, the solar system, and weather/seasons. We will be doing a lot of activities with colors for St. Patrick’s Day, sensory bins and hands on activities for the other themes. Just a heads up, we will be getting messy this month. Your child may come with stained hands from paint.
