Hello! My name is Mary Britain. I have been with Kennedy Academy since March 2016. I am the E1 Teacher. I have a lot of fun and exciting activities planned for the students this school year!

L.A:

Review Letters and sounds A-Z. Continue practicing on writing our letters and names.

Math:

Patterns, Review our numbers 1-100, Counting objects to 100, Number relationships

Social Studies/Science:

We will be learning about all different types of insects, the ocean and what lives in it, the 4 different elements, and reading and singing all our nursery rhymes. It will be a fun month! We also can not forget out MOMS, we will be talking about our moms and what they do for us every day!

Each week we will learn how to write our numbers, count them and then count them with objects.

Social Studies/Science:

We will be learning all the weather and the different seasons. Some of the activities we will be doing is making a weather wheel, figuring out what type of clothes are needed for each season and type of weather, and make a rain cloud. We will also be learning about different plants, the parts of a plant and how to grow them. We will also be learning about our wonderful planet called Earth and about the meaning of Easter!!

Science and Social Studies: This month we will learn about different folk tales/fairy tales and read different stories about them. We will also be learning about of lovely state of Kansas and Black History Month. I have a lot of fun activities planned for each subject!

We have started our new curriculum, Learning Without Tears. The students are getting to know Squawker the Parrot and all the activities that he brings each day for them to do in the classroom.

We will be working out identifying, tracing, and writing our numbers each week.

Science and Social Studies: This month we will be talking about the different jobs throughout the community, as well as the different vehicles you can drive. At the end of the month, we will be talking about the different cultures we have in our classroom and building.
