About me

Hello! My name is Tabitha Franklin. I am the P3 Lead Teacher. I have been with Kennedy Academy since Jan 2016. I helped out in the E1 classroom and P1 classroom as well. Prior to teaching at Kennedy Academy, I taught children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old for approximately 8 years.

LANGUAGE ARTS: This month we will be working on letters J,K,L,M ad N. Every Monday we will be introduced to the letter; Tuesday we will trace the letter; Wednesday we will trace the letter; Thursday we will do some sort of review. 

MATH: This month we will be working on numbers 10, 11 , 12,13 and 14. Monday we will be introduced to the number; Tuesday thru Thursday we will work on the numbers in many different ways.

SCIENCE: This month we will be learning about cultural diversity, family and the meaning of Thanksgiving. We will be doing an art project that deals with our family tree as well.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We are continuing to learn to share our toys with our friends and not throwing them and picking up before we move to a new area. They are doing much better, but it is still something we will continue to work on. We will also be working out rules and manners. 

Just a little reminder for new and old parents, I will only be sending worksheets/activities home on Friday (at times I will send some home during the week). Artwork and things they do on their own will be sent home almost daily. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to speak to me at any time. SCIENCE: This month will be finishing up our plants summer curriculum and then go into learning about ourselves.

Important Dates:

  • 7/28: Water Slide & Pizza Party

Summer Program has begun, We will be learning about the Two Bite Club. This is a program that discusses nutrition. We will also be continuing to grow our own garden and measuring it weekly to see the progress. The children daily admire the growth of our Tomatoes and can not wait to try some soon. We will continue to do circle time daily as well as read stories that go along with our nutrition themes.

Splash day is every Wednesday and Friday. Please bring your children already dressed for splash day as well as make sure they have sunscreen on when they arrive, we will apply more sunscreen after nap. Also please make sure they have clothes to change into afterwards so they are not in their swimsuits all day. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

I hope you all have a safe fourth and enjoy  your week off. We will see you all back July 10th to enjoy the rest of our summer program 🙂 .

REMEMBER APPLY SUNSCREEN ON YOUR CHILD BEFORE YOU BRING THEM IN THE MORNING AND WE WILL REAPPLY THEM AFTER NAP. ALSO SUMMER MONEY FOR OUR SPECIAL ACTIVITIES IS DUE ASAP.

Almost every Friday there will be a story and a game that you can do as a family at home. We read the story as a class but it is always nice to reread it again as a family :).

SCIENCE: This month will be learning about planting, and how things grow. We will plant some flowers in front of the preschool building and talk about them as they grow. For the ocean we will talk about what things live in the ocean.

Student Of the Month: Camden B

LANGUAGE ARTS: This month we will be working on letters X, Y, Z and Aa. Every Monday we will be introduced to the letter, Tuesday we will trace the letter, Wednesday we will write the letter and Thursday we will do some sort of review. This month is also has Quarter Testing so we will be doing a lot of review work to get us ready for testing.

MATH: This month we will be working on numbers 3-10 review. We will also be continuing to work in our workbooks. The children enjoy doing them ? Almost every Friday there will be a story and a game that you can do as a family at home. We read the story as a class but it is always nice to reread it again as a family :).

SCIENCE: This month will be learning about  the earth, plants and recycling. We will discuss the different planets and how they rotate. For plants and recycling we will discuss many different things but  we will discuss how we reuse things like milk containers, toilet paper rolls for many other functions after we are done with them.

SOCIAL STUDIES:
