SHOW-N-TELL (Must be small enough to fit in their desk or book bag)
I allow the children to bring in an item that they like to share. It does not need to be theme based.
LANGUAGE ARTS The school year will start right off with identifying our upper and lower case letters Aa, Bb, and Cc, as well as learning how to write the letters independently while learning what the letter sounds are and learning words that start with those letters.
MATH We are going to start the year by reviewing our counting and number identification from 1 to 10 and counting backwards from 10 to 1. Our shape this month is the oval.
SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES For science, we are going to discuss our 5 senses: hearing, smelling, seeing/touching, and tasting. We will do a variety of activities that will allow the children to use and learn about their sense.
For social studies, we are going to discuss rules and manners, sharing, bullying, playground safety, and classroom rules in order to start the school year off so the children know what is expected of them.
