Human Body – Body parts, Major organs

Dental Health

SHOW-N-TELL (Must be small enough to fit in their desk or book bag)
I allow the children to bring in an item that they like to share. It does not need to be theme based.

LANGUAGE ARTS – The school year will start right off with identifying our upper and lower case letters Dd, Ee, and Ff, as well as learning how to write the letters independently while learning what the letter sounds are and learning words that start with those letters.  Learning to care for our books by learning to identify the parts of a book.  We will learn to recognize the difference between letters and words.

MATH – We will be learning how to count to 100 by 5’s and 10’s.  We will be learning how to write numbers 1 – 20.  More, less and same.

SCIENCE – For science, we will be learning to identify the position of an object.  Ex. – Above, below, beside, in and out.  We will learn to identify if objects are alike or different.  We will be discussing the changes in weather.

SOCIAL STUDIES – Days of the week – Today, Tomorrow, and Yesterday.  Topeka is the city I live in.  Kansas is the state I live in.  We have four seasons and we will learn to identify the changes between seasons.
