Language Arts: This month we are learning “er”, “ir”, and “ur” sounds. We are also learning about double letters and long vowel O, spelled “ow” and “oa”. We are also continuing to work on our writing skills. We will be spotlighting Dr. Seuss this month. We will be working on rhyming and writing poems.
Math: We have started working in our new math workbooks. I hope everyone got a chance to look through their old math books that were sent home. The students are reviewing and learning new concepts simultaneously to ensure that they are gaining an understanding of the concepts they are learning about. They will continue to do so this month. We are also going to be doing some extra addition work to help them gain speed with addition of single digits.
Science: This month we are about the solar system. The students will be learning the names of the planets and how they orbit around the sun.
Social Studies: This month we are learning about the holidays- St. Patricks Day and Easter. We will be doing many activities for each holiday and talking about what their traditions are for the holidays.
