Important Dates:

November 3- Daylight saving time ends, change clocks one hour back

November 20- BOOMER visits

November 28-29- NO SCHOOL, Thanksgiving Break

Student of the Month: Genesia

Our theme this month is all about animals. We will incorporate animals into our daily work. We will still be doing our letter of the week and our number of the day as well.

Language Arts: This month we will continue with our Animated Alphabet with our weekly letters. This month we will be working on the letters H, J and K. We will review our letter the week of Thanksgiving since it is a short week. Everyone seems to really enjoy all the hands on activities so they will continue being a part of our small group time. These will alternate with the theme, holiday, month, and/or letter of the week. We are still working on letter recognition and writing while practicing our fine motor skills to strengthen hand coordination.

Math: This month we will work hard on number recognition up to 30. We will continue using the white boards daily to write our numbers as well as our number of the day workbooks. Like with Language Arts, we will be doing a lot of hands on work. These will consist of matching numbers to objects and counting objects. We will also work on our counting by 1’s to 100, counting backwards from 10 to 0, and begin working on counting by 10’s and possibly 5’s if the 10’s are mastered.

As always our show n tell is Friday afternoons and is free choice. The only rule is no weapons.
