January 29- Kansas’ Birthday, BOOMER visits

Important Dates:

January 1- NO SCHOOL, Happy New Year!

January 20- MLK,Jr. Day

Student of the month: Eesha

Happy New Year! It is so hard to believe that the year is halfway over. I have a lot of fun things planned. This month is all about Geography. We will learn about our solar system, earth, and end the month with all things Kansas to celebrate our state’s birthday.

For Language Arts we will continue working with our letter identification, sounds and writing. We will continue doing mostly hands on activities which help with learning social skills and following rules. They call them games and get excited when I get new ones out. While we will still work on our letters, we will also be doing fine motor skills to strengthen their hands such as playdough letters, using manipulatives to trace letters, and sand trays for writing.

Math will be filled with learning our numbers up to 100. Skip counting by 10’s and 5’s. Sequencing, patterns and learning ordinal numbers. We will also work hard on counting objects, sorting by size, color and objects and writing our numbers in various ways such as sand trays, playdough, and shaving cream.

This month will be packed with a lot of fun activities with art to go with the theme and winter. So please check folders to see what all they have created.
