Important Dates:

July 1-5- NO SCHOOL/ Summer Break

Splash Days- Wednesdays/Thursdays (July 10,11, 17, 18, 24, 25, 31)

This month we are going to be enjoying the summer. We are going to be doing crafts and activities for each day for a summer theme. We are going to be talking about camping, ice cream, swimming, and other summer fun activities. This month we will continue reading and learning as well. The class will continue to review concepts learned through the year to keep them ready to start the new school year.

Language Arts:
We are going to continue to expand our letter knowledge through the summer while having fun with each letter.

Math:
We are going to continue counting to 100 during circle time as well as number recognition.

Classroom News:
Please remember to bring a water bottle, we will be spending a lot of time outside this summer with all the fun activities we have planned.

Reminder: Kennedy Academy will be closed July 1st through July 5th! Please plan accordingly. Tuition is due for the week we are closed. Thank you! 

IMPORTANT NEWS: 
Please remember to send your child with their labeled swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, & flipflops/water shoes in a labeled bag each MONDAY starting 6/24/19. On FRIDAYS, we ask that you take the bag home to be laundered and returned the following week.

Students should be sent to school each day with their sunscreen applied. We will reapply it in the afternoon only if we have written permission on file.

Even though the academic part of our program is more flexible during the summer, we still make sure we review at circle time every day, and enjoy themed activities that the students will enjoy to keep them learning! Along with that we have several fun activities planned this summer. These include but are not limited to: Splash Days, Sidewalk Smores, visits from the EMT, Police Cars, and the Ice Cream truck. The Topeka Public zoo will also bring some of their friends to visit us, and we will have a special visit from a Magician! We will enjoy Taco Tuesday and have a Pizza Party! And one of our biggest hits is our water slide day! How exciting!

To Enroll:
Complete the Student Information form (download the Enrollment form here) and pay the $50.00 non-refundable enrollment fee (cash or money order only please).

Tuition:
$145/week – We are a full-time program Monday through Friday. Discounts available for military and multi-child. DCF Accepted. Tuition will increase to $150 on August 1st.

Hours of Operation:
6:30 am – 5:30 pm
School begins promptly at 8:30 am.

Additional Information:
Kennedy Academy accepts children from the ages of 2 1/2 years through Kindergarten.

Children must be potty trained.

We do not discriminate against anyone in regard to race, religion, national origin, ancestry, physical handicap, or sex. However, we do say a prayer of thanks before each meal and we do teach and celebrate the true meaning of Christian holidays such as Christmas and Easter.

It’s hard to believe the school year is almost over! We will be wrapping things up this month with both Language Arts and Math.

Our themes for the month are all about Father’s Day and graduation. We will talk about how important dads are and how we love them. We will also be working hard on gifts for them. We will also be practicing for graduation.

Don’t forget, the weather is getting warmer. Water bottles are a good idea for the playground and we have a refrigerator in the room to keep them cold.

Language Arts:
We will continue reviewing our letters each week. We will continue writing all our upper and lowercase letters, as well as what sounds they make. I have new activities from our grant that the children have been loving to play to help them with their letters.

Math:
We will continue working on our numbers 1-100. We will also continue our addition.subtraction and matching our numbers with objects.

Science and Social Studies; What are our seasons? We will also be talking about what we plan on doing during the summer, the Fourth of July and what it means. Also we will be talking about our families and what they mean to us.

Student of the Month- Tinley L.

This month we are going to be wrapping up our school year. We will be working on completing our math workbook as well as finishing all of our unfinished work for the year.

Our themes this month include dads and graduation. We will be talking about our dads and why we love them. We will be making gifts for our dads for fathers day. We are also going to be practicing for graduation.

This years graduation is a 50s theme. The graduates are learning songs and dances to perform at the graduation ceremony. We can’t wait to show you what we have learned.

As the weather is warming up, please be sure to check the weather daily. Some days start out rather chilly. On those days, we still play outside. Please send your child in a jacket, even if it is going to warm up by the afternoon. We can always take the jackets off if it gets too warm.

We are counting together as a class up to 100. We are also learning to identify our numbers to 20.

Please remember to put sunscreen on your child before coming to school. We will put more on them after nap. Please make sure you bring extra clothes that are weather appropriate.
